First two weeks in Lake Sibbo and Rågö Camp and the groups from France and Italy has really found BIG pikes. Up to 120 cm and 12 kg for the french guests and 110 cm, 11 kg for the italians.

Field Test 2: Perch on System 3

System 3 Field Tests continues. This time the bigger perch was with us and we caught some really nice one´s in Lake Sibbo. Though hard wind the rods stood up the test and the 1.90 m together with the light red top and 10-15 gr jigheads was perfect. Real nice feeling and they are very fast to set the hook. We caught some smaller pikes too.

Next rod will be a longer version and more suited for bigger jigs and tails. To be continued....

Field Test: System 3 JigRods

After many years of fishing with different JigRods, we decided to improve Jigfishing and JigRods from the foundation. Together, team Dragon and Big Fish Sweden Guidegroup, have put together a whole new concept for Jigrods: System 3!

In short terms, we were looking for the Ultimate JigRod with changeable rodtips for different kind of fishing, depending on species, weight and conditions. We were tired of rods not ajustable to the different types of fishing you might meet on your fishing trip and came up with this: System 3!

System 3 JigRods have three different rodtips, easily changeable and recognizable by three different colours (red, green, white).

Use the Rodtip you prefere, depending on conditions you fish!

Field Test in progress: Team Dragon Silver Edition 1,90 cm, cw 2-10g (red)/4-18g(green)/7-21g (white)

Team Dragon Sweden member Pelle Jältsten was fishing 2 days on the island of Gotland for Sea Trout. Lot´s of fish was showing and they caught BIG one´s.

Slopefishing for perch

The perch starts to move out from the shallow weed and going down to the slopes between 3-6 meters. Last days has been wonderful here in Sweden with real warm weather, but cold mornings. The fishing for perch is still crazy with lot´s and lot´s of perch on jigs.

Also intresting to test different weights and sizes, when you notice that the perch tends to just grab the tail of the jig. Often we start with 10-15 grams, but if the fishing is slow we go up to 20 grams and that often makes a change.

The same with size: start with 3,5", but going down in size to 2,5 to 2" if the fish just tends to bite in the tail.

We had a visit from Swedish Fishing Magazine “FiskeJournalen”, making an article about our fantastic perchfishing in Lake Sibbo, especially with jigs and “Superlight” Rods. The fishing was awesome with more than 250 perch caught and many real nice one´s taking white, yellow and silver jigs. Dominating was 3″ Mutant V Lures and the writer/photographer Nicka Hellenberg fell in love over our Dragon Millenium X-Fine rods.

We also caught many pikes, but that is another story…

This is the right time to imitate small baitfish when you see these huge schoals and chasing perch. We have fished with 3,5" Mutant V Lures (S-03-100) a couple of times when fixing the rental and guideboats in Lake Sibbo.

Also i must really recommend Millenium X-Fine 2,40 rods. They have a real pleasant drillingaction, but are also very sensitive. A real good combination for especially perch.

Big Sibbopike on Phantom V Lures

The season just started after some vacations and we had a visit from Canada in Lake Sibbo. Fredrik was guiding with our new Proguide rods: Millenium X-Fine 2,40, perfect for light jigfishing for perch and zander.

After about 20 perch in good size, they changed to a little bit bigger Phantom V-lures and the canadian got a big strike and a good fight!

After a couple of minutes, Fredrik was able to land a 118 cm (11,1 kg) beautiful Lake Sibbopike.

Fredrik guided two guys from Wisconsin, USA in Lake Sibbo trying our new Guide Equipment (Rods: Millenium X-Fine, 2,40 m, 2-12 g, Line: 0.16 Guide Pro Vision, Jigs: V Lures Phantom) with really good result.

Even though the rods are very Ultralite the clients managed to catch nice pikes up to 101 cm and a real BIG Sibbozander weighting 7,6 kg.

Baltic Salmon Trolling

The Baltic Salmon Run has started! This time of year, the BIG salmon travels north and passes by the Stockholm Archipelago.

Emil was out with clients and took a nice 9,6 kg salmon straight away. We have 21-23 fot CC boats (Wellcraft, Horizon, Silver Eagle) for this kind of fishing.

Last year Niklas managed to take the biggest salmon 2009: 21, 4 kg!

This weekend the big competition "Laxcup Nynäs" runs for three days. We have two Team Dragon competing. Wish us luck!

Öland: Sea Trout Paradise

Fishing guide Johan Bjelkendal, former Camp Manager at Trosa Fishing Camp, now runs a guide service at the island of Öland: Sea Trout, Baltic Salmon and pikefishing (shallow fishing with waders) reports:

"Some days you can have a special feeling that the fishing is going to be good.

I had that feeling today and after 10 minutes i had the first strike:

A silvertorpedo gave me a really good fight.

The scale showed: 5 kg.
Just after 3 more throws i had another seatrout:

2.3kg.

Short after the second landed fish i had my third strike.

Team Dragon Sweden were represented at the Wilderness Fair 11-14 march in Stockholm. Lot´s of people visited the exhibition and we had some good response to our new Tracker Boat and to the Hobie Cat Kayak trips. Lot´s of people asked about fishing in private Lake Sibbo, of course!

On saturday we had a guided trip on the ice. Biggest pike was a 120 cm (11,1 kg) Sibbopike!
